Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island known as West Island. The West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never known about it may mistake it for an island that is west-facing. The West Island is frequently referred to as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that may be true, her time there was short. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa in Ontario. She was determined to be professional, however due to a rapid increase in her height, she outgrew the dance partners she had. In an interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels, I'm 6 feet, 1 inch." After I surpassed my male counterparts and gave up, I decided to give up. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who shifted into acting. The teacher she had at high school was the one who pushed her into the right direction. The teacher encouraged her to try out for roles in a school production. Following a trial her options, she was eventually the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. It led to a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. In the 20+ years since, Brugel has landed roles on over 60 shows on both small and large screens. She attracted the most attention when she landed the part as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel appeared only on rare moments in the very first season of The Handmaid's Tale. She was the sole Canadian actor.

Aisha jamila hinds was born in the United States and is well-known for her part on The Shield. In the years since her debut she has demonstrated her range of talents by appearing in series like Under the Dome, 9-1-1 Detroit and 1-8-7.
