Selena Gomez is an internationally well-known actress and singer. She's been involved in various projects. However, her involvement in the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place has had the greatest success. Her real name is Selena Marie Gomez. Selena Marie Gomez was born Grand Prairie, Texas on the 22nd of July 1992. Her parents are Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez. She was born to Amanda Cornett, was sixteen years old at the time Selena was born. When she was 9 she got her first job in show business when she took on the character as Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. Thus she became one of those children that played the most famous anthropomorphic purple dinosaur in all of history. Selena participated in a number of episodes from seasons 7 and 8, from 2001 to 2003. Fun fact: Demi Lovato, who was a part of Barney's Friends during the time also, was a co-star with Selena. Following the end of the show, Selena Gomez auditioned for several roles in other programs and movies, but she was not as successful. She got a small role in the 2003 movie Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over) and another like Julie as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. She also was given the part of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2007 Brain Zapped program for which she wrote her own song.
